United Mission to Develop Nepal charges most reasonable small fee for Nepal volunteer program. Our volunteer programs are free volunteer program and small fee that we take from volunteer will be utilized for fooding and accommodation. The money goes to transportation, airport pickup and transfer, guided city tour in Kathmandu etc. Read more in include and exclude section.
As we are running our program totally depending on our volunteer’s program fees, we are trying very hard to keep our costs down because we realized volunteers are making a big sacrifice and have saved for a long time to come to Nepal. Still there are some expenses that we have to cover that is why we request to our volunteers to pay the program fees.
However, if needs to be remembered that Volunteering can be an expensive undertaking with possible costs including per-departure and on-arrival workshop or briefing. Language training selection and Screening of Projects and accommodation on local Transportation, food, ongoing program. Monitoring and 24 hours / 7 days Emergency support. To provide participation with consistently high-quality program it is also necessary to employ staff and maintain a proper development and evaluation, rent, salaries, Computer and Telecommunication to the Our project.
When you decide to make volunteering program with us, you are expected to send $50 as registration fee for program and pay the remaining amount once you arrive here directly. Sometimes it is costly and time consuming to send registration fee so in such a case you can make full pay once you come here. The program fees should be paid either in local currency, US dollar, English pound or Euro upon arrival in Kathmandu. Cost covers
- Pre-departure Information: Information on booking flight ticket, getting visa, Airport procedure, what to bring etc.
- Land Transportation: Airport Pickup, airport transfer, transportation to project site.
- Program Induction: Basic Nepali language Course, Cultural class and program orientation etc.
- Accommodation: Few Night accommodation during program induction period and after program in Kathmandu and in volunteering place

The program fee excludes the following:
- Airfare, Visa fees (Visa fees: US$ 25 for 15 days, US$ 40 for 30 days, US$ 100 for 90 days and US$ 2 per additional day up to 5 months–Visa can be obtained upon arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport )
- Accommodation, meals and transport during the weekends when you are out of placement
- Medical and accident insurance

- Personal travel expenses (trekking, rafting, jungle safari etc)
- Personal expenses (Generally, US$ 10-30/week depends on you).

- Non refundable from one to four weeks
- Before starting program training- 50% of total will be refund
- No money will be refunded once you start your placement.
