Welcome to Nepal, a land of stunning nature and rich diverse culture!!!
Economically, Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world and yet one of the richest in landscape, wildlife and culture. Nepal has been one of the top 10 destinations for the adventurers. Year upon year volunteers and trekkers come here to give their time and to experience all that Nepal has to offer. At UMD-NEPAL, we recognize that your time is precious and while you want to give it to help developing Nepal, you also do not want to miss the chance to explore. In response, we have designed the Adventure and Volunteer Programs, allowing you to volunteer and explore and trek safe in the knowledge that the staff at UMD-NEPAL have carefully arranged the details.
Adventure with Volunteer Program is a three weeks volunteer and travel experience in this ancient Himalayan kingdom. United Mission to Develop Nepal’s volunteer program gives you an opportunity to explore three different regions of the country and to engage in the most spectacular natural, cultural, and wildlife experiences Nepal has to offer. It helps you in healthy character development and self-discovery through challenge and adventure. So you will be giving back to the community in need while exploring the natural beauty of the country.
This remarkable trip will allow you to discover as much as possible in your short time, while giving back to the local Nepali communities around you. Whether your dream is to watch basking Gharial/Marsh crocodiles, to splash with an elephant in a jungle river, to stroll in the medieval streets of Kathmandu or to relax on a boat in Fewa Lake with mirror images of Annapurna Himalayan ranges – we will make it real.
Where will you be going?
The tour starts in the Kathmandu Valley, with its UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, and then takes you to Chitwan to explore a National Wildlife Park famed for its unique and endangered floras and faunas. From there the journey heads north to the fantastic Lake City of Pokhara. Your cultural journey through Nepal is enriched by opportunities to volunteer at one or more of Volunteer Society Nepal’s projects across the country: teaching English, sports, or IT in schools; working in an after-school child care center, helping the children with intellectual disability at its care center, or with women’s groups, or taking part in construction.
